FleytMuzik: Klezmer Concert and Dance Party, and Nosh
FleytMuzik, with Internationally known klezmer flutist, Adrianne Greenbaum, records their second album right here at FCT's StageOne. Dance music of the Jews from eastern Europe will permeate the room with sounds of vintage wood flutes and strings as Greenbaum performs on important vintage flutes from the 19th century including those made of mastodon ivory and exotic African wood. This concert will feature a venerable collage of tunes from Moldavia, Ukraine, and the former Soviet Union mixed with Greenbaum’s own award-winning compositions. FleytMuzik’s first album was one of eight finalists out 10,000 records in the Just Plain Folks Indy awards.
Professor of Flute at Mount Holyoke College, Principal Flutist of the New Haven Symphony, she has entertained audiences US in colleges and festivals, at Amsterdam's Jewish Music Festival and as a charter performer in Vienna's Klezmore Fest.
With Greenbaum will be "Monster of the Cimbalom" Pete Rushefsky, star klezmer fiddler,Jake Shulman-Ment and well-known jazz/klezmer bassist Brian Glassman.
"Even on the most intricate, quiet, classical passages, this is the sort of playing that makes clear how much of a difference amazing musicianship makes!" KlezmerShack.com
